Is Facebook ads suitable for a ‘solution to a specific problem’ business?
I run google ads & Microsoft ads and have done for 5 years. I spend apx. £170k annually (£120k GA/£50k MA) and almost all of my business’ sales come through PPC from these platforms.
An example of a problem my potential customers will have is “my landlord has served a notice of eviction, what can I do?”. My service is only of any use to people with that problem. Not something you will spend money on randomly on impulse…
So what I sell is basically a solution to very specific problem and people are unlikely to buy that unless they happen to have the problem. If they see the ad when they don’t have that problem, they are unlikely to remember by website – they will just google search at the relevant time and choose from one of the many suppliers that appear in the results.
I have always felt that this type of business is not a good match with FB ads, because people aren’t usually searching for a solution to problems on FB. But I am not a FB user myself and I have no idea if my idea of how people use FB is correct or outdated.
What do you guys think?
