Is anyone else feeling like we’re just managing bots at this point?
Honest question for the group, when did social media management turn into basically bot wrangling?
I just wrapped a campaign that got amazing engagement according to the initial metrics Client was pumped then we looked closer and like 60% of it was bots. When I broke the news about the actual human reach being way lower, the client literally asked me does it really matter though if the numbers look good?
I've been doing this for a while now and I gotta say, the AI shift feels different. Some of it's genuinely helpful sentiment analysis is pretty solid now, scheduling tools are saving me hours. But I'm also seeing AI-generated content absolutely everywhere, and it's getting harder to tell what's real anymore. Half my job now is using AI tools to detect AI engagement to report on content competing with other AI content. It's honestly kind of absurd when you step back and look at it
Curious what everyone else is experiencing. Are you all-in on AI tools, being picky about which ones you use, or trying to keep things more manual?
