Is accepting guest posts from backlink brokers like The Hoth or Authority Builders worth it?
Posted by seohelper on March 21, 2021 at 7:05 amI’ve noticed most of the larger backlink brokers also have an option to join their list of publisher sites. That way when one of their clients requests a guest post or niche update the broker sends you a pre-written article article with a request to publish.
Does anyone have experience with these submissions? Are there any major downsides? Does it actually help increase traffic in the long term?
I’m currently outsourcing content so any free SEO optimized articles (even if they require heavy edits) are a win in my book.

GuestMarch 21, 2021 at 7:29 amLikely any guest post you get from these types of services is going to be at BEST bare minimum quality. They’re a business, they aren’t hiring writers to put a piece of art on your site. Its sole purpose isn’t to rank but to get a link placed.
The downside is you might not be aware of what websites you’re linking to. Especially with shit service like The Hoth who has been known to get links from PBNs.
You’re also at risk of the sites buying the backlinks sending backlinks to their guest post on YOUR site, juicing up their guest post’s link equity. I’m not sure if Google can detect these types of things, but your site (and maybe theirs) will be held accountable. Tier 2 links are not links you want on your own site.
Overall, if you care about your site, I wouldn’t do it. If you had a site you didn’t care about that you wanted to whore out before it crashes and burns then it might make sense.

GuestMarch 21, 2021 at 9:44 amI use authority builders for the sheer convenience.
Once the request is submitted, Im able to see the actual URL and if the site has any sign of penalty, ill request a replacement and they are generally very responsive to this.
I used to do my own outreach but its time consuming and more expensive (hunter.io + mailshake + ahrefs subscription + shotgun skyscraper).
I only link back to informational content and use random anchor text and this has done my site wonders.
However, the best links Ive gotten are from outreach and continual email follow-up (we got a link on a DR 87 4 mil + traffic site free of charge).
I would not under any circumstance let people guestpost on my site, especially people buying links through these brokers.
The industry is full of people who believe tier 2,3,4 link spam actually works to boost their own link juice on your guestpost which will definitely impact search presence in the long term.

GuestMarch 21, 2021 at 10:06 am“You don’t know who you are linking to” – I think people writing a natural content on their blog or website are not doing a fully-fledged investigation about a website they are linking to, right?
The steps are:
1) I am writing an article
2) I am looking for external websites, I find one as the linkable source in Google or elsewhere,
3) I place a link to them
I cannot be sure that the linked website IS NOT or WILL NOT BE eventually a part of a PBN or something like that, and I am not supposed to know that. All I care about is their content, right?
My only objection to the HOTH is that their prices are quite high. Well, may be they are using the best content writers in the world?

GuestMarch 21, 2021 at 2:06 pmIt’s all against Google’s policies and if ya get caught your website will never rank the same. I wouldn’t mess with it but some are lazy and willing to boost others in return for very little.

GuestMarch 21, 2021 at 6:35 pmThe content will be trash. About 95% of the places you find yourself linking to will be trash. The money will also be trash. They won’t be able to afford to pay you much and keep their margins reasonable.
Other than that, it will be great.

GuestMarch 21, 2021 at 8:36 pmThey work but I think that you need a lot more of them than you might think especially if it is for a new website with few or no posts.
