  • Is a GSC account detrimental to being shown in search?

I have a question about GSC and if it's a necessity to submit sitemap via them to be listed in Google Search Let's assume everything else is in order, like backlinks, internal linking etc. Any experiences with this?

Nope, sitemaps do very little for low authority sites. You ideally want your pages to be found from other pages, not a sitemap.

Sitemaps will not increase your chance of indexation.

They really serve to see how many published pages are indexed vs ghost pages.

No doubt someone will tell you it is but the Google Dev Guide says otherwise

Having a GSC account isn’t required to show up in search, but it helps catch issues and speed things up. Most sites benefit from submitting a sitemap there.

Google Search Console is the only place you can have a site indexed to Google. without indexing in GSC the site will not show in Google Search results
