  • Instagram won’t send me the security code, tried *literally* everything…

    My Instagram account has been security locked and it requires me to give a six digit code to get back in… The phone number is old but I have access to the email and they are not sending me the access code. I have checked all spam, tried to log in on multiple browsers, incognito mode, changed VPN’s, reset my password etc all to no avail.

    The strange thing is that the email address that comes up as my security email is not the email registered with the account, it used to be (but I still have access to this and it’s not there either.)

    When I reset my password it goes through to the correct account.

    I don’t know what to do, I was literally logging in to change my phone number as I just got a new business phone number… I am so annoyed.

    I’d be really grateful if any of you could help.

    I had this happen. Did your account get compromised? 99% you are screwed unless you have an account manager.

    This is a simple solution, but it may work:

    When you try to login, there appears a small frame that asks whether you’d like the code sent to your phone or email. Make sure that the box for email is checked with a tick. It’s the box on the second and lower line, and the default is the phone option. So, it can be overlooked when stressed.
