Instagram engagement campaign. High engagement but 0 comments.
I’m running a small giveaway on IG and pushing it with ads. It’s the first time I’m doing so, and it is generating some weird results.
It’s been running the entire day. The copy mentions clear rules. Follow the IG account, like the post, and mention 3 friends.
Well, so far, across all ads, there is 2000 likes. 0 comments. Negligible follows (~10, which I think are organic).
I started thinking that maybe the ads had comments disabled somehow, although it doesn’t make sense. I opened the ad post myself and commented just to test, and I could.
Is there something I’m missing? These ads were all tagged as low quality, as they are inciting engagement. But according to fb, that only increases cost by decreasing reach, which I’m OK with as this is our main goal.
Currently I set up an ad using the organic competition post, which has been receiving comments without issues, to see if this one sidesteps the weird issue somehow.
I could understand people would care to read the copy hence not reading the instructions. But why liking so heavily then? The creative just mentions the prize, without instructions.
Any clue at all at what’s happening? Thanks.
