Posted by on August 11, 2021 at 5:48 pmI’m new to PPC (google ads) and want to learn about ROI optimization. I know the basics by now, I want to learn the things google doesn’t tell. I’ve heard that big SEA-agencies use excel templates to calculate their bids on specific keywords to max out the performance. I want to learn the math behind that. Which strategies make the most sense in different cases?
I just don’t know where to start. Blogs just tell me what I already know and I want to go a bit deeper. Anyone got a good source to start with?

Honestly, speaking from agency side here, we barely do manual bid management anymore.
Most accounts run smart bidding TROAS/TCPA. It saves huge amounts of time and usually performs better (with enough conversion data).
Manual bid management is becoming extinct. There will always be exceptions and there will be someone telling me wrong and that he’s doing everything manually but Google has far more signals in their black box than we can ever anticipate for manually.
Also. Auction time bidding removed the possibility to change bids when using a smart bid strategy.
