    Hey everyone,

Has anyone had luck when applying for verification for a brand that is relatively new on social but recognizable nationwide?

I’m working with a brand that’s distributed in 20,000+ stores nationwide but is just starting to get serious about their digital marketing efforts. I sent through an application with the required materials and we were rejected.

Any tips to position ourselves better in the eyes of the Instagram Gods would be greatly appreciated!!

It seems pretty hit or miss. I applied and somehow got verified and all I do is write a food blog. I was already verified on Facebook prior to that though (which seems easier) so maybe that helped.

Follower count used to have some impact on it. They wouldn’t even really look at accounts with less than 10k, but that may have changed over the past year or two.

Links to good press coverage on the brand recently establishing authority is a requirement on any request we’ve submitted through our media partner portal or ad agency portal.

Outside of the “usual” process it’s easiest once you have a Facebook account manager or rep, which you generally get once you start spending a large amount of ad dollars.

Facebook Support live chat also can sometimes “send on” on your request – seems to be very hit and miss though.

Pretty much my job to get people featured on outlets. It’s expensive, but i can get pretty much any type of influencer verified in 45-60 days. We have over 500k/mo adspend with our agency and have our own panel to submit with and etc.
