  • IG is showing me my own ad multiple times, how to fix?

Hi I boosted a post and I’ve seen my own ad three times. In ad manager, I see “exclude location” but not exclude certain people (like myself). Does anyone have any tips please?

Stop all and run them from your Ads manager

Boosting is a waste of time. You may see your own ad if you are in your target but always run from ads manager

When you boost an IG post, the platform can still serve the ad to the account that created it — you can’t fully exclude yourself. It happens because Meta’s ad delivery uses engagement history to “test” audience performance, and you’re automatically in the pool that matches your own targeting.

    What you can do:

    * 1: **Ignore or hide** the ad when you see it (tap three dots → “Hide ad”). Meta’s system learns not to show it to you again.
    * 2: Next time, **run the ad from Ads Manager**, not a post boost. There you can use *Custom Audiences* → *Exclude* → “People who interacted with your page/account.”
    * 3: Make sure you’re not using a personal account to view your feed during testing; use a burner or log out to preview.

You can’t 100% stop seeing it, but hiding it and excluding interactions at setup minimizes it fast.

Depending on how many views you paid for it will resolve after you see it enough times
