GuestJanuary 16, 2026 at 2:00 amSelling it is the point. If you’re trying to say its like one those get rich schemes, its not. The reason why people do seo and sell it is because seo is about getting page 1 results, thus potential traffic.
The thing is you can get page 1 results only really for a particular business. How would an SEO company profit from it, if they kept it all to themselves? Open up companies for the keywords they want to rank for? Seems very hard to make money by holding onto ranks for their own companies.
Most SEO companies compete for the same ranks for digital marketing, SEO ranking etc and they rank very high already. That makes them money through potential costumers, but if they get rank 1 for roofer, how would they get payed for sitting on that? They couldn’t, so they sell it to a roofing company. Etc.
The money ill make from starting a roofing company to profit off it, could be something but now im running an SEO company and a roofing company. Why not just sell it to a roofing company and then basically get from him to keep doing his SEO? Then i start on a new roofing company, then i move onto mechanics, lawyers, plumbers, etc.

GuestJanuary 16, 2026 at 2:12 amI mean if you have a skill why not monetize it. Also SEO being a b2b service generates good money. I understand what you’re saying but I think your take is wrong. You’re trying to expose SEOs like they’re selling a get rich quick course on YouTube.

GuestJanuary 16, 2026 at 2:36 amI get annoyed- people always emailing me- I’m an SEO expert I can fix your website or YouTube channel. Meanwhile most of the words in the email are misspelled and they show a screenshot of a basic app telling them there is issue. Frustrating.

GuestJanuary 16, 2026 at 3:07 amYou go where the money is. Where more money is that is.
In this day and age there are substantial risks in running websites – and honestly you are not an expert in all fields. Whereas you can sell seo services to business who already have expertise in their own industry, and you are not responsible for running all aspects of their online presence.
