If I create a Link Click optimized traffic ad that is advertising an article, and get 50 Link Clicks and only 3 landing page views, does that mean 47 people who clicked on my ad never reached my landing page? Or does it mean something else?

How are you viewing the page view data ? -
Optimize for landing page views instead. These machines are pretty good at doing what you tell them to do: get me clicks – here’s a ton of clicks dawg!

That’s exactly what it means, yes! Link clicks are not necessarily clicks on a link to your website, so maybe people just interacted with your ad. Try optimizing for landing page views instead.
