I want to track brand mentions in AI search but don’t know how
Posted by on March 24, 2026 at 12:28 amPretty sure our customers are asking ChatGPT and Perplexity for product recommendations instead of Googling but I have no idea if we're showing up or not.
I've been manually checking different AI platforms with random queries but it's completely unsustainable and I'm definitely missing most of what actually matters.
Is there a real way to track this or is everyone just guessing? Are agencies doing this for clients now?
Our SEO team doesn't know how to approach it and honestly neither do I.

The manual checking thing is brutal but honestly it’s what most people are doing right now because this category is so new. Build a spreadsheet with your key queries, check them weekly, track patterns over time. Not scalable but better than nothing. Eventually tools or services will emerge that make this easier.

Are you familiar with Conductor? Doesn’t give exactly what you’re looking for but it can give you a rank for specific keywords.
