They say one of the most engaging activities are those that establish a state of flow, meaning, an activity in which your skill set exactly meets the challenge of the activity, one where you are neither over skilled nor under skilled, but completely engaged.

Does the process of putting out content feel like an activity with a state of flow, or does it feel like past a certain point it really doesn’t matter how many followers you have.

The state of flow goes with learning/doing a skill, the only feeling you get from social media is dopamine which will only fuel your ego, dont let that take control of you.

I have 735,000 subscribers on YouTube. After about 100k I started not paying much attention to the sub count with the exception of maintaining overall growth. As I approached different big milestones (250k, 500k) I got reengaged in the numbers. My next reengagement won’t be until I get closer to 1M.

On the flow side, when it comes to the content, there was a (long) period of time where there was the perfect match of learning, creating, coming up with ideas, running tests to figure out what my audience responded to most, etc.

These days it’s easy because I’ve been doing it long enough to understand what’s needed plus I have a small team of people that help me with things. So now, for my flow I lean on live streams.

When I’m streaming I feel the most connected to what I’m doing and time vanishes which causes me to stream for roughly 3-4 hours of non stop talking before I start getting mentally taxed due to streaming at night and just running out of steam.

2021 is going to be a year of exploration for me to try to find my creation flow again. Working on some exciting projects and going to dive deep into the educational side of things in order to pull it out.

    Hopefully that helps.
