When I started posting on TikTok, I was doing what most people do, posting random stuff, using trending sounds, and hoping something would go viral. But it did not and my growth was flat. So, I started looking for strategies to level up my game.

Most of the advice I got was to focus on content and for that I had to understand which content was performing. I started with a tool to analyze my own and  competitors’ profiles. The tool gave me an idea of what type of content was performing. It gave me detailed analytics (profiles, hashtags, songs, engagement rates, posting patterns etc)  a full picture. I used the data to focus on what I was making.
After my content was sorted I looked for a targeting tool to show my content to the relevant people. I set a few metrics (location, age, hashtags etc) and started posting. The content performed so much better. My followers and engagement increased and with the data from both tools I could identify what is performing and adjustments I need to make. I did not have to make tons of content and throw it on my profile now, I analyze make content and target it to the right audience.

This is for those who are struggling to grow on tiktok, stop relying only on trends or luck. Some investment in analytics and targeting tools can teach you a lot about your content and what really drives growth.

I agree people asking to buy followers and views must try tools. Investing in tools will get them real engagement and growth.

I find a similar thing when I’m posting on TikTok but sometimes I’ll post a very similar to a previous successful video and my account ends up in “views jail” or stuck below 300-400 views. Is views jail a real thing?

Sounds great and wise. Do you focus on a specific niche? meaning is all your content around a specific topic or industry? that will help you attracts a specific audience which will then lead to brand deals that target that same audience. I’m from the brand side and I only partner with creators that are relevant for the niche I am targeting.

I have the same experience as you. I started tiktok by posting random stuff hoping to get viral but it never did. I then pick one-two niche that I like and start posting on them for a couple of weeks and one of the videos blew up to 500k+ views! after that, ppl start following my acc and my views are above 30k on avg. feels like tiktok wants to know about you so they can rec you to the right audience and one thing that can help it do this is to post consistently in our niche
