Im trying to grow my personal brand in the Fitness/Self Development area.

Been procrastinating for along time because i know growing it and getting traction takes forever.

I posted the same 1 minute video on Youtube Shorts, Instagram and TikTok

YouTube i got 0 views in 24 hours

Instagram 9 views in 24 hours

TikTok i got 600 views, 20 likes and 3 followers

Does this mean i should focus more on TikTok?

Well, is this a fair comparison?

After all, each platforms algorithm works differently. From initial traction to long term exposure.

Just because something works initially well, does not mean it will long term.

TikTok is relatively new, so rewarding creators with easy exposure is a clever thing to do. Now, is this exposure convertible?

    I am not quite sure.

Instead, simply re-publish all of your content on each & every platform you are on. This way you do not put “All Eggs” in one basket, and are able to cross promote content.

You may promote IG, YT on TikTok and Vice Versa and what not. That’s what will eventually get you the best possible results.

If your message fits well in short videos it seems obvious you should focus on TikTok and Instagram. After several more videos perhaps Instagram views will be improve, I suspect YouTube wants longer form content to promote. There must be some analysis to suggest the length necessary to get YouTube attention.

1 video is a pretty small sample size. You might want to give yourself a bit more time to collect data.

If you’re still “new” on most platforms I’d honestly just continue to crosspost for now and as you post more you can gather better data on what is/is not worth your time, in addition to seeing if different types of content do better on certain platforms. This should help you tailor your content and figure out where to put your focus.

A side note on Shorts – I’ve been testing Shorts out over the last month and it seems to take about a week or so to get into the Shorts “system”. My first 2 Shorts sat right around 2-3K (low for my channel) for about a week before suddenly taking off and now one is the top performing vid on my channel with over 5 million views. YMMV but I wouldn’t count Shorts out just yet.

Tiktok following and views is less meaningful I’d say compared to YouTube , the goal really is to get a cult like following
