Not sure if this is the right place, but I wanted to share something I’ve been experimenting with over the last few months.

I was helping someone grow their Instagram page from scratch, and we recently crossed 10K followers without running ads or doing any paid promotions. It took time, but what surprised me most is how much consistency mattered compared to anything else.

A few things that actually made a difference:

    – Posting regularly (even when engagement was low in the beginning)

    – Focusing on short-form content that people don’t skip in the first 2–3 seconds

    – Keeping content simple instead of over-editing

    – Replying to comments and DMs early on to build some initial engagement

    – Studying what was already working in the niche instead of trying to reinvent everything

There were weeks where nothing worked, and then suddenly one post would take off and bring a lot of new people in. Kind of feels like momentum builds slowly and then hits all at once.

I’m still figuring things out, but this made me realize growth isn’t as random as it seems, there’s definitely a pattern if you pay attention.

Curious if others here have noticed similar patterns or completely different experiences?

Honestly, this is refreshing to read because too many people act like growth is some secret hack when it’s usually consistency + patience. Most quit during the “nothing is happening” phase.
What do you think mattered more for hitting 10k: content quality or posting consistency?

I’m actually working on growing an account right now too, and it’s been really slow so far, but this gives me some hope.

Your point about consistency over everything else really stands out – I feel like I sometimes overthink content instead of just posting regularly.

Out of everything you mentioned, what would you say is the most important thing to focus on earl on? And is there anything you wish you knew when you were just starting?

Would love to learn more from your experience🙌

I disagree that consistency is what grows your account. I was posting consistently and nothing happened. It wasn’t until I improved my content that my account started growing (by 18k followers in a month and still growing every day- now up to 27k!) Our social media is now being used as a search engine. In order to get pushed, you have to make content that people are looking for.

Folks always fail to mention industry and region with these posts. Well done on this one, but I doubt you’d achieve this with a local hardware company in Essex for example.

real talk hitting 10k is a massive milestone, but the real “actual marketing struggle” starts now: turning those followers into signups. i try to write like i’m typing between campaigns and i’ve seen accounts with 100k followers go broke because they didn’t have a conversion system. i’ve found that the only way to maintain that momentum is to keep the production volume high or like 15-20 pieces a week and so the algorithm keeps feeding your “hub” with fresh intent. congrats on the win, definitely keep the foot on the gas.
