Hyper-Targeting vs Broad Targeting in Facebook Ads

Posted by seohelper on June 30, 2020 at 7:54 pm

Recently, I went from a hyper-targeting strategy to a broad targeting strategy (i.e targeting worldwide, all genders and ages, placements etc.) And I must say I’m extremely impressed with the results and Facebook’s algorithm improvements as a few years ago I tried the same thing and found a completely different result.

Wondering what r/PPC’s experience is with Hyper vs Broad targeting in Facebook.

Broad targeting can work great when you have a seasoned pixel.

I’m interested to know more about this and what’s the approach for a new business vs a well established one

It’s definitely been working better lately, provided the campaign in question has the budget and moves out of the learning phase quickly. I’ve erred this direction for any campaigns with enough spend and a high enough base CVR.

It has almost always been the case that targeting a larger audience and letting FB choose who to show your ad to will perform better than high precision targeting.

And this is more true today than ever before.
