  • How would you handle a brand crisis caused by toxic fans?

A group of toxic fans has been spamming the social media accounts of a known multinational electronics company and even the LinkedIn profiles of the higher-ups, including the country head. This all started because the brand chose a different celebrity ambassador instead of their idol who has a negative public image herself.
The fans are actively trying to destroy the company's image by claiming their laptop products are low quality and that competitors like HP and Asus are better.

The SMM have already professionally clarified in X that the choice of celebrity aligned with the brand's values and that the decision was a success, leading to an increase in sales.
However, it's been a month, and the toxic fans haven't stopped maligning the brand.

I'm not affiliated with this company, but as a social media enthusiast, I'm curious how others would handle this situation.

The problem with LinkedIn is that it doesn’t allow much automation. Otherwise, using third-party tools would have helped.

The text is very vague, while it at the same time feels as if the details matter a lot.
