How to start from zero?
Posted by sacrificial-angel on November 24, 2025 at 1:20 pmHello! I’m starting a small business and I’m focusing on Instagram and TikTok as my main channels for attracting customers.
But I’m a bit reluctant to start, because it feels strange to post with zero followers! What should I do? What’s the best approach? Should I just start anyway?

GuestNovember 24, 2025 at 1:24 pmYou just have to start my friend, I’m brand new to this too – make engaging content and use hashtags and titles well. Promote yourself in relevant places and be prepared to get tiny views or even none at all initially.

GuestNovember 24, 2025 at 1:47 pmYes, start anyway. Everyone begins at zero, and posting early is what helps the algorithm find your audience.

GuestNovember 24, 2025 at 1:48 pmJust post genuine content and remember that the followers are usually the ones who appreciate the raw. Focus on niche hashtags and engage with similar creators.

GuestNovember 24, 2025 at 2:13 pmPost immediately, because the only thing stranger than having zero followers is waiting for them to appear on their own.
When we launch new activities, the first 10 pieces of content only serve to make the algorithm understand who you are and to give a “showcase” to those who discover you: think of TikTok, where fresh accounts get millions of views precisely because they are new.
It starts today, even badly, because the only real mistake is staying still. -

GuestNovember 24, 2025 at 3:03 pmI think it’s normal. Starting at zero feels weird, but everyone does. The algorithm won’t judge you.
Pick one format you can post consistently, share simple value, and treat your first 20 posts like practice reps.
Once you show up regularly, the followers come as a side-effect, not the goal.
Yes, start anyway. That’s the only way to get the momentum.

GuestNovember 24, 2025 at 4:06 pmSocial media sucks because you just feel like you’re shouting into the void. Even after gaining what most would consider tiny following- 360 ish people – it still hasn’t driven really anyone to buy from my Etsy. I’m grateful to have people like my work but it’s hard to get people to go from admiring to buying in my experience.

Every single account you admire including every big brand, every influencer, every creator once began with **zero followers**.
