How to regain engagement from ghost followers?
Posted by on December 20, 2025 at 9:03 pmMy TikTok blew up in 2020 when I was a teenager with nothing better to do than social media during the pandemic. I managed to get to 65k followers and around 2M likes total (approximately).
Fast forward to present day, I have just under 61k followers but my videos rarely breach 1000 views, some not even reaching 500. I don’t have a particular niche, but I never did. I post a mix of humor/entertainment/lifestyle content and have had one or two posts recently (within the past year) go ‘viral’ and have 50k+ views.
How can I either gain back the attention of those who no longer interact with me while also attracting new people? I don’t think I could narrow it down to just one niche, especially since I have a full time job and am trying to keep my TikTok alive as a side gig. Any and all advice is appreciated 🙂

If you don’t want a single niche, I’d still pick 2-3 repeatable “pillars” (ex. humor, lifestyle, etc.) that you stick to, and rotate them. The algorithms *need* some pattern to know who to test your content in front of. Totally random posts makes it harder for TikTok to match you to the right viewers.
