  • How to rank a completely new website?

    Posted by seohelper on May 7, 2020 at 12:34 pm

    I have been given a fresh website that has not been worked upon enough. I need to build initial links to it and I assume that I would have to do some kind of NAP Listings and Social Bookmarking to give it some value. I do not that think that I can get links to this via guest posting as the website is very new with no authority.

    What exactly should I do?

    A quick list of things to do, initially;

    * Create and submit sitemaps to Google + Bing (+Yandex/Baidu if appropriate)
    * Build links and citations (NAP)
    * **Ignore social bookmarks** for now as they’re low ROI for small/medium sites
    * Make sure all content is decent, not spun, or coppied
    * Check meta data (title, descriptions) to make sure all are unique and not copy/pasted from pages
    * Build internal links with context relevant anchor text

    If it’s a small business, citations will be critical, even above inbound links! I’d create business pages on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. but leave the social stuff there until you build up some DA 😉

    Edit: obviously, don’t expect instant results for a new site!
