  • How to post an eBook – Advice

    Hello everyone!

So, due to the new core update, our webpage was penalized a lot (down 60%). This being said, the algorithm was corrected but left me with a big concern about basing our whole bussiness in SEO.

This is why we created an eBook and decided to post it in order to capture mails and been able not to depend merely in SEO.

The thing is, how can I display it in my website?
I think that a popup is pretty abussive nowadays and doesn’t feel like the correct thing to do in 2021.

Let me know how you do publish and promote your own material!

    Have a great 202!

relatedly, what are people’s thoughts on self-publishing on Amazon vs. on their website?

Sounds like you are asking about the seeding aspect of content marketing.

I sell subscriptions. This is how I usually work:

The last ebook I published was uploaded to an AWS S3bucket. I created a few banners on my website and pointed these to a landing page. On that landing page, I showed some nice mockups, a catchy headline, a few bullet points, and a short (first name/email) form to download the ebook. After filling out the form the user lands on a thank you page with a ‘special offer’ that is time-limited (just that day). I then send the user an email containing the link to the ebook.

The user gets added to a new list in ActiveCampaign and after a day my ebook flow starts. It is a five email series with the usual pain/perspective/social proof/time limit messages.

Both the thank you page and the email flow give me great results: direct conversions and a huge bump in my prospect list in AC.

To promote the ebook I use my prospects list. I send out emails to let them download the ebook and show them the offer. Besides that, I make a quite few Facebook/Instagram/Pinterest ads that I scale up when they give me the right conversions.

Alternatively, you might promote it by social media. You simply create a landing page on your website
With the book, then you push with ads.

This is the smartest thing you could do.

That depends on how you do it and what it offers. If it’s something your audience really wants, it is not a problem.

You can also put sign up forms at the end of your content. Let your readers know the results they will get. Show them how the ebook is related to what they just read. Make sure you tell them clearly what they need to do next.

Get in touch with me if you have questions or need some more help with this.
