  • HOW TO GET MORE SALES ON INSTAGRAM BY EXPLOITING VIRAL CAROUSELS

Posted by seohelper on June 14, 2020 at 1:30 am

This post will be the shortest, and most straightforward post on how to generate more sales for your business through viral carousels on Instagram.

There are 3 main parts you need to understand to get more sales using this strategy, and these are:

    — Understanding carousels

    — Creating viral carousels

    — Selling with viral carousels

Understanding Carousels and Why They’re Underrated By Business Owners

A carousel is a content type just like videos or photos but this content type gives you the chance to combine both photos and videos.

Instagram favours this content type as people swipe left to see more photos/videos thereby spending more time on the platform and giving Instagram the chance to make money.

I see a lot of business owners posting product photos and videos, and I think that’s cool

    BUT!

Why do most business owners forget or simply ignore carousels? I’ve seen only a few businesses using carousels consistently, WHY? WHY!??

How Can You Create Viral Carousels?

Carousels go viral easily just like videos as I mentioned in the article on Instagram Account Genetics (this article is available on my profile)

There are 3 main things a carousel should have to go viral (assuming you’ve gained momentum to go viral), these are:

    — A Good Caption

Your carousel cover is the first photo or video people see, this should be attention grabbing/Emotional, should have a good hook, and should have a call to action telling people to swipe for more or share with a friend.

    — A Good Caption

Captions are as important as the visual content you share, a simple caption like:

“Double tap and share with a friend for…”

will get you likes and shares while a caption like:

“Comment and tag a friend for…” will get you more comments and tags.

    — Good 2nd Photo/Video

The video or photo after the carousel cover is important, this piece of content should have a different call to action, a hook is not as important here.

How Do You Generate Sales With Viral Carousels?

Selling with a viral carousel is a simple and straightforward process, here’s how you do it:

STEP 1: Research or recreate a viral piece of content (video or photo) for the cover.

Example: A photo of a girl that has bad skin with text that says “How Face Masks Ruined My Skin” (outrageous claim)

STEP 2: Create a good caption with a call to action that makes your audience take a specific action, this CTA (call to action) should be in the first line.

Then leave a line break and talk about your product or give instructions on how they should order.

Example: “Face masks ruined her skin, is it ruining yours? Share to save a friend.

    *line break*

    [STORY]”

STEP 3: Add a good 2nd photo or video that gives details about the “hook”, this “2nd photo” is your chance to tell a story.

You can add a 3rd, 4th, or 5th video/photo to tell your story and convince your audience.

Example: “I’ve been struggling to get rid of blackheads for the past 10 years and in that time I have tried *[FAILED SOLUTION A], [FAILED SOLUTION B], and [FAILED SOLUTION C],* and the blackheads only got worse, so I saw a peel off mask and decided to try it, I was happy with the results until…”

STEP 4: Present your solution with a call to action, present your solution again, and give clear instructions on how people can get your product/service.

Here’s a summary of the steps:

    — 1st image/video: Grab attention

    — 2nd image/video: Tell story

    — 3rd image/video: Tell story

    — 4th image/video: Present solution

    — 5th image/video: Present solution

    — 6th image/video: Present solution

    — Add a good caption with a CTA and your story

How Can You Use This If Your Account Doesn’t Go Viral?

Your account may not be going viral because you do not have enough momentum or your account hasn’t been “trained” to go viral yet (see the Instagram genetics article).

This isn’t a problem as you can work with an influencer or viral page to get your carousel seen by thousands of people.

    Who Is This Strategy For?

    This strategy is for:

    — People who buy ad spaces (shout outs) on big accounts

    — People who have big viral pages but have problems selling

    — Local businesses trying to get more customers from Instagram

    — Entrepreneurs who want to get more people into their sales funnel

Oh! This post got longer than expected (sad I didn’t keep my promise), what are your thoughts on this strategy?

Interesting. I run carousels but haven’t considered the problem > solution format. Will try!

This is just the worst clickbait, bottom of the barrel stuff about Instagram. Wow.

    > Example: A photo of a girl that has bad skin with text that says “How Face Masks Ruined My Skin” (outrageous claim)

Super. Clickbait. Just what we need more of.

This is the kind of crap the industry needs less of.

Every account is not constantly trying to go “viral”. Build solid content that engages with your audience and their specific needs. Vary it so you don’t blend into the background. And stop chasing some imaginary list of a million people in one day.

    Heard this similarly from the content creator Chris Do;

He says to use AIDA (attention, interest, desire, action) as a format for carousels. With the 10 swipes/images you get, the first post should grab Attention. Then grab their Interest with the next 2-6 images, usually a story is a good way to keep people swiping, then create desire with a few ways they can get more value, then call to action is last. I have not tried this yet but it seems that it has worked for many of his audience.
