How to get lower cpms when starting out?

Posted by seohelper on June 30, 2020 at 3:41 pm

Im new to this whole dropshipping business and im using facebook ads to drive traffic. i posting like 3 different campaign with different objectives. Like PPE, Conversions, and traffic. All of them are getting my around $20 cpm. Why is this? If im paying for less valuable audience on a ppe campaign why am i paying just as much as a conversion objective? How do i lower my cpms? Ive tried to make the content relevant and i target a broad audience can someone point out what mistakes i made?

What kind of optimizations are you running on the campaigns?

I honestly think you’re making a mistake with the traffic campaigns and engagement campaigns. They’re a waste of money. I actually had a Facebook rep once tell me that “traffic campaigns are garbage”.

And if you’re just starting off… I think that the concentration on CPMs is a bad move. Your CPM pretty much tells you how expensive your audience is: which has a lot to do with your target demo AND the actual optimization or custom event that you’re going after. BUT… if you have a good product, you need to be looking at actual conversions on your campaigns instead of CPMs: time on site, add to carts, view product, purchases, etc.

I get $1.5 CPMs on display, Facebook isn’t necessarily the place for cheap audiences.
