I been wondering if using kwfinder or other English focus data source is plausible for other language as well?

Mainland China is state run does not use most of Google services so ranking for China is some what a different thing as search results are filted by the great firewall of China.

For Traditional Chinese, the best KW info will come from Baidu. Baidu has its own KW/SEO tools baked into the backend, similar to Google’s set of tools.

I’d look at your traffic and where it’s coming from. A site I worked for had significant Trad Chinese visitation and search terms, with said traffic coming from the US. Most likely all VPN traffic. So we focused on Google & used Western SEO tools (SEMrush).

Malay you can get from Western sources, but a more local source might be better. I didn’t do any work with Malay, so don’t have actual experience there.

For Malaysia Ahrefs is your best bet.
