How much % of people click on ads compared to organic results?
Posted by on April 8, 2021 at 9:02 pmI’ve Googled it. But found many different statistics and I don’t trust them. PPC related sites with boast that a large % of people click ads. While others will say its less than 10%.
Has there been reliable research done on this?

I forget where I saw it, but one of the big digital marketing players did a massive analysis (like Moz maybe? I forget) and they came up with 14% of clicks go to ads. The methodology was good, the number seemed reasonable.
Edit: the actual number is fairly irrelevant though. If you run PPC and get more traffic, then it’s worth doing. In my experience, PPC may cannibalize some organic traffic but it results in a net gain and positive ROI.
