How much Google Ads budget do I need to target a few cities for my new therapy practice?

I’m starting a private psychotherapy practice and plan to run Google Ads to attract clients. I’ll be targeting 2–3 mid-sized cities with PPC less than $0.2 for keywords like “somatic therapy” or “trauma healing”. I’ll be using Search and will be manual (not performance max)
For those who’ve done this:
• What’s a reasonable starting monthly budget to see results? And if there’s anything else that would be helpful to knowWould love to hear from anyone who’s run ads for therapy or similar local services. Thanks!

Manual Search can work, but $0.20 CPC for therapy terms is unrealistically low in mid‑sized cities. Keep targeting tight with exact and phrase match on high‑intent queries, narrow geo around the practice, and strong landing pages. Focus on a concise multi‑step form that screens for specialty fit, insurance or cash pay, city proximity, and preferred times, then confirm next steps and automate follow‑up.
A good starting budget would probably be $50/day but more the merrier.

Expect CPCs around $1.50–$4.00 for terms like “somatic therapy” or “trauma healing.” This range should generate consistent inquiries and data to refine targeting over time.

20 cent clicks won’t convert. I would buy keywords with therapist in it rather than generic head terms bout types of therapy. It’ll be more in the 2-3$ range

I’m doing this for a few psych clinics. Avg cpc is about $3-4
