  • How influencers make money off of fans?

Posted by seohelper on April 8, 2021 at 6:38 pm

I’ve been reading a lot about how influencers make money. Mostly it’s brand deals, selling merch, selling their own physical products or such.

I was wondering how influencers make money off of fans strictly online in virtual world? Charging them for one on one chat, selling videos or what?

They sell their influence, in whatever sector they have a following.

Fashion influencers can get paid to wear a (piece of clothing) made by (fashion brand).

Gaming influencers can get paid to use (headphone brand/model) in their streams

Car influencers can get paid to name drop a (performance petrol) in their posts

Etc etc, ‘influencers’ are just people who are happy to be a human billboard as a job

I think streaming platforms have the most direct method of making money off of fans (e.g. donating to watch their stream or donating to the artist/influencer/gamer). You see this predominantly with Twitch or YouTube. I’m sure there are other platforms.

Otherwise, you’d be correct with selling products or merch. That’s the only other method I can think of how an influencer would receive money directly from fans.

Affiliate links for any products they use, or selling their own merchandise

only fans and patreon are what you’re looking for i think? they’re both paywall platforms where fans will specifically give money to access those influencers content. OnlyFans didn’t start as a site with nudes and sex, it was originally just a paywall platform like pateron.

    For me:

    80% Ad revenue (60 FB 20 YT).
    10% Brand deals
    5% Patreon
    5% Merch sales.

Roughly. Totalling around $20-30k a month.

Most influencers over charge and aren’t bringing the worth to the table that they claim. Quite sad actually.

Brand deals, merch, ad revenue (fb/youtube), subscription (patreon), content licensing (depending type), etc.

They list their venmo or Amazon wish lists and fans directly buy things for them or send them money.

Of course it depends on their niche.

If they have a YouTube channel, they monetize their channels and share YouTube ad revenue. They also can accept donations via YouTube. Some setup channels on Patreon where followers pay different amounts monthly in exchange for Q&A’s, exclusive content, merchandise and more.

Let’s say the influencer is a photographer or videographer. At first, they get free gear in exchange for reviewing it on their channel. As they get bigger, the brand may pay a fee as a sponsor for that particular video. In addition to that, they include links in the video description that contains Amazon or other affiliate links so they earn a commission if the follower clicks the link and buys a camera, lights, etc. Some also offer courses or what are called LUTS for the follower to use in their video editing.

There are lots of ways to make money as an influencer IF they’re fortunate enough to reach the right numbers of followers.
