  • How Important is Getting A Perfect SEO Score?

    Posted by ActualBarracuda5059 on November 11, 2025 at 9:15 pm

    Hi Everyone!

    A little background: I work for a small locksmithing business and I've been taking over the website and SEO stuff since early October. I've been using the RankMath SEO plugin, and have been learning a ton as I'm going (I'm a locksmith, never went to college for anything, let alone marketing/website stuff lol) and have seen a lot of really good results (i.e. rise in impressions, clicks, keyword rankings).

    Here's my question: how important do you all think it is to actually hit a perfect 100 on the RankMath SEO score?

    At this point, I've gotten every page/post at least up to mid-80's, but it would take a TON of time & some money to get it up to a perfect 100 on every page (they want each page 2500 words or more, they want you to use content AI which costs money per month and they only give you limited tokens even for what you pay) and I'm wondering if the extra 15% or so will actually make enough of a difference to justify the time and money? Can anyone who uses RankMath give any insight on this?

    There is no such thing. RankMath and Yoast scores are alchemy, so is Lighthouse/CWVs

    The first thing I teach new marketing teams is to fail these tests and how to rank properly. At first they refuse to publish anything without a 90 score. Then they quickly realise its complete BS

    Google is content agnostic.

    Rankmath doesnt understand SEO.

    The only thing you need to be indexed and potentially rank:

    * A dcoument name (i.e. a file)
    * External Authority

    You do NOT need:

    * an image
    * any h-tags
    * A page title
    * bullet points
    * Any kind of structure

    Everything you read in these Everything SEO bagel lists is superstition

    RankMath is not Google. It’s nice to follow some metrics but don’t depend on RankMath as your sole guide to optimization. Focus more on your competitors and what’s working for them than trying to make your own SEO scores green or 100.

    It’s really not that important as others have said. Just make your site work for the user and load quickly.

    Also why not just use chatgpt for free instead of their paid ai to create content of you want to do it? Rewrite anything any ai writes though. Especialy any occurrences of the word elevate

    You can easily use Grok, Gemini and GPT to help you write a 2500 word article a day. That’s 3 articles a day.

    But to answer your question. The 100% is useless. I beat DA+40 big (local EU) companies with a 20 DA SME. Hardly any backlinks, no socials and 80% of pages under 1000 words. And it’s been like that for over 7 years, so no black hat, spamscore 1%

    Nice work on getting your pages into the mid 80s with rank math for your small business site, that;s solid. The plugin’s SEO score is basically a guide for on page best practices. But a perfect 100 doesn’t automatically guarantee better rankings. If you’re already seeing positive results with less effort, spend your extra time on broader SEO.

    The 100 percent “score” is useless. I’d rather be optimizing for entities and using the inlinks analysis than anything by rankmath or even yoast.
