How I spotted real followers after an IG giveaway
Posted by on November 21, 2025 at 11:16 amLast month I did a giveaway on instagram and the results were amazing my followers increased so fast I got excited to see it but it was tough to tell who was actually interested in my stuff or who was there for just free stuff..
I found an app that shows what my followers were following in real time and I was frustrated to see that most of the accounts that participated in giveaway were either bots or people with no connection to my niche like they were just spam accounts hunting for prizes. This helped me understand that a big follower jump does not always mean you are growing audience. Now i am focusing more on the people who stick around and engage after the giveaway.
Has anyone else had a similar experience after a giveaway? How do you spot real ones?

Avoid using hashtags like Giveaway or Win and just keep the ones relevant to your niche – Assuming you were using hashtags
