How I grew ny IG account from 1k to 17k followers in 8 months, simple tactics that actually worked

I kept thinking that algorithm is just unpredictable. I posted consistently tried every 'big post time' and used different hashtags but nothing brought in real followers who cared about my content.
The biggest problem was that my page did not have a clear direction. Everything changed when I simplified my approach
• Picked a clear niche: I made sure anyone who opened my page could instantly understand what my account was about
• Chose 3 repeated post types: quick tutorials, bts shots and short personal stories. Instead kf trying 10 ideas in one post i focused on one clear point
• Collaborations: I worked with creators who had small but relevant audiences
• Used better tools: I tried many tools and finally found one that shows IG followers in real time. I used it to avoid fake or spam accounts and focus on real people who actually engage.
After making these changes my IG page engagement improved. My followers jumped from 1k to 17k. Engagement improved by 45% and new followers started interacting with my posts -
