How do you remove search terms from google ads?

Posted by seohelper on August 24, 2021 at 5:45 pm

I realized I added some search terms to the wrong campaign, but now I can’t figure out how to remove them. When I go to keywords, they are not there. They are specifically in the search terms area. The only choice the platform is giving me is to add them as negative keywords, and it won’t let me do that currently for some reason.

Anyone else had this problem? I think it’s throwing off the specificity and relevance of one of my main campaigns.

    Thanks for any help!

If the search terms you entered were broad it will trigger terms that you did not necessarily enter but matched. If you do not want a broad match you can be more specific with your search terms or, as you said, add negative terms.

Are you sure you meant you added “search terms?” We normally add “keywords”… and then google matches it (crazily) with “search terms” from google users. If you wanna remove keywords you added, you’ll find them under the Keyword area, not search terms.

Search terms are the things searchers use to make a search… they are essentially queries.
