  • How Do You Find a Legit Wikipedia Editor? (Seeking Sustainable, Non-Scam Options)

I'm looking for advice on how to find someone legit to help with a Wikipedia article, specifically, someone who will follow all community guidelines so the page actually survives and doesn’t get deleted right away.

I've come across lots of agencies and freelancers offering these services, but it seems risky, many posts warn most of these are scams or just out to take your money, and plenty deliver pages that end up deleted for not following Wikipedia policies or for promotional content.

So I’d love to hear from others:

    • Has anyone had success finding a reputable person for this?
    • Are there any signals or reviews that actually point to a trustworthy editor or service?
    • Is it better to just draft everything myself and post on the article’s Talk page, clearly stating my COI, then wait for neutral editors to handle it?
    • Any horror stories about agencies/services promising “stability” but failing?
    • How do experienced editors recommend approaching this so the page survives and aligns with Wikipedia standards?

Any tips on the best, most ethical route will help!

I found a really experienced and professional editor on upwork. Theirs a whole category for Wikipedia on there. You can open a job listing with your requirements, and they normally apply. They usually offer evidence of their accounts to prove they are legitimate (and also their upwork rating and reviews).

    Good luck.

SEMPRE.

It depends on the subject. If the subject is spammy or lacks real value, it will be very difficult to create a full page about it. You might manage by adding a link to an existing page, but it may not be accepted.

My advice is to honestly assess whether your page truly deserves to be there. And yes, I know you might say “yes, of course,” but I mean HONESTLY. If it doesn’t, not even the most legitimate service will be able to keep it there, and it won’t be their fault, but yours. You’re not the first to try this, so keep that in mind.
