What’s the general consensus here, that SEO is focused on technical site optimization and link building or a more holistic practice that also encompasses content strategy and optimization/UX? I see a lot of folks asking questions about links and technical optimization but not so much content strategy and optimizing for NLP/Entity search (yes you can do it). Just curious, new to the sub.

The honest answer is that most of the questions asked on this sub are coming from people who are just learning about SEO, or have been doing SEO this whole time while missing the bigger picture. Most of the pre-conceived notions about what SEO entails are incorrect, which is why you see so much emphasis on technical optimizations and link building.

Content strategy and UX are absolutely part of a holistic strategy. SEO is not SEO without those components. All the link building questions are coming from people who are trying to optimize their own sites and read somewhere that links are important.

Content strategy should ALWAYS come before link building. But yeah… you don’t see people asking the money questions on this sub.
