  • How do you actually grow Twitter followers & engagement these days?

Posted by 0xsksh on September 13, 2025 at 12:16 pm

    Hey folks,

I’ve been trying to be more active on Twitter lately, but honestly, it feels tricky to balance between posting consistently and actually writing things people engage with. I’ve seen people talk about AI tools, Chrome extensions, and scheduling apps… but I’m not sure what really helps vs. what’s just noise.

For those of you who’ve grown your Twitter following:

    • What worked best for you — posting threads, short takes, memes, or personal stories?
    • Do you use any tools/extensions that made your content more engaging?
    • How do you balance between “posting often” and “posting something worth reading”?
    • And if you’re comfortable sharing — what was the turning point where your follower count started climbing faster?

I’m curious to learn from your experiences. I’m sure many of us here are trying to figure out the same thing, so it’d be cool to hear real stories instead of just the “growth hacks” floating around.

Looking forward to your tips & journeys 🚀

on Facebook, its all about funny animal videos. I would suggest using a paid AI video generator that can make realistic ones.

This is something I’ve recently tested and working on(New Accounts with 0 to no followers):

When a trending post pops up on feed, check the time and last reply of the author.

I thought the earlier you put a reply, the higher chance others will engage with it, including the author.

But that’s not the case, the engagement I got regardless of how early or how trendy the posts of other people were always the same. The people who engage with trending posts will have the comments ordered differently such that YOU and your comment are left out the conversation and lower than the profiles who’re paid or much larger and more popular than you.

Sadly this means that no matter how much you invest in your content, or how early you try to join trendy posts by popular accounts, your comments and engagements will always be lower and get less views and engagement than your competition.

X is mostly just paid promotion in that regards, your profile will not grow from engagement or content since most are using automations and play the system which needs $$$.

Growth on Twitter today doesn’t come from magic tools but from the format you choose: threads still work because they keep people on the platform longer. If you write a thread that starts with a strong hook and then reels off practical value (like a mini-guide or analysis), Twitter pushes it much more than a single tweet. There’s no need to post a thousand times, as long as each post makes the reader say “ok, I’ll save this or retweet this”.

Well apparently if you have a blue tick you can do the follow for a follow back technique, which I personally don’t like. And it seems to me that all of the ‘experts’ there just post some superficial without substance advice, plus recirculating the same stuff all the time.

reply to many people as you can and try having genuine connection and giving value to people, though a bit of luck is always a factor.

On Twitter, most effective thing I find are posts that invite debate. You can post topics in ways where you’re not actually necessarily taking one of those sides (if you are like me and don’t just want to argue with people all day) — which works well because others will engage to discuss their opinions.

Doesn’t need to be rage bait, but I find Twitter does much better with conversations in posts, not just a piece of info to read and move on. Because of that, I will share information but also mix in posts to get folks discussing topics.

It’s easy. Just follow these simple instructions: 1) build a time machine; 2) go back in time 15 years; and 3) post great content and engage with others.
