  • How can I increase my blog’s SEO?

Posted by seohelper on March 20, 2021 at 10:01 pm

I’m currently working on a class project in my Digital Advertising course. We are tasked with setting up a blog as well as a Twitter page covering a topic of our choosing and gain a following. I’m having trouble getting organic users and my page views aren’t even close to what they should be at this point. Any suggestions on ways to make my content more visible besides sharing it on my socials? For reference, I chose for the blog to cover information and helpful tips for beginners in the filmmaking industry/hobby.

Difficult to answer without knowing the starting point.

What have you been doing up to now?

You could try making top 20 lists of the best schools for the different types of films and genres (digital, animated, special effects, documentary, etc). You could also pick really obscure genres and do “How to write a screen play for [obscure genere]”, “how to light a scene in a 20’s thriller noire” “How to hire actors for [obscure genre] film.”

It’ll be easier to rank and get organic traffic without backlinks by making long lists and how to’s on obscure areas of film making. “How to make a [genre] film without going to film school or money”. Link all the blogs together, etc etc.

Did you get any backlinks? What kind of content are you posting? Is there ANY traffic on the website? Can you share the link to your blogpost?

I guess you might be struggling with your KW research. Go back and analyze your KWs again, understand the search intent for the KWs you are trying to rank for and answer that query in a way that is more appealing that the top 3 on the SERPs.
You can be trying to rank a great piece of content, well written, excellent, but if it doesn’t answer the query there is no possibility to succeed.
