    High Converting Landing Pages and Their Features?

    Posted by seohelper on January 16, 2021 at 4:35 am

    What are the essentials to a good converting landing page?

    Part of me feels like it should be simple. It should follow the ad copy. It should show some features of the business and services. It should have eye catching traits near the contact form. And it should half brief text (3-5 sentences)

    What landing pages do you find perform best? The ones that are super long and unique may steer people away from the true intent of the page, the call-to-action… thoughts?

    Check out my Granite Countertop business landing page: [https://www.rockymountaingranite.ca/](https://www.rockymountaingranite.ca/)

    After a decent bit of testing, this seemed to work out the best. I imagine it differs for every market. I found a simple and elegant look worked pretty well for countertops because I want to give the vibes of luxury and wealth (lol).

    It works better than the previous one that had lots more text.

    I’m no expert but maybe that will give you an idea.

    Hi u/Joseph4855

    Here’s what I think the essentials are for lead gen. landing pages, (in no particular order).

    * Speed
    * Readability
    * A layout that guides the visitor towards the action you want them to take.
    * Relevance ie giving the searcher what they were looking for.
    * Getting the first job right (More on this here: [https://pete-bowen.com/landing-pages/your-landing-pages-first-job](https://pete-bowen.com/landing-pages/your-landing-pages-first-job))
    * Prominent call to action.
    * Alignment between the visitor’s stage of the buying journey and the action you want the visitor to take. (If the visitor wants info and you want to give a quote you’re going to get fewer conversions than if the visitor is ready for a quote.)
    * Sufficient text to convince the visitor that that you do what they’re looking for, you’re trustworthy and you’ll respond if they make contact.
    * Https
    * Accurate conversion tracking. (You get roughly the same number of leads as reported conversions).
    * As few as possible distractions.
    * Layout that enables scanning and skimming. Sub-headings, bullet lists and so on.
    * etc (I could go on for hours about landing pages)

    This is an old but still good cheat-sheet for building high-performing landing pages.

    Did a [twitter thread](https://twitter.com/duanebrown/status/1344310516496400386) on this recently that went “viral”. Everything you say could be true but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Also, you have to take your customers into account. Following all the best and common practises does not mean you will product a winning landing page… if it does not match what your customers need.
