Here’s my dilemma…
Posted by on February 23, 2021 at 1:49 pmI currently work for three companies that are about to become one and I’m working on our social media strategy.. specifically with Facebook. On one of our accounts, we have about 35K (currently inactive and unengaged) followers / likes because the person before me didn’t do anything on there consistently or sometimes at all..
It’s also of note that there’s been lots of penalties and ad rejections because the name includes the letters “rx” and Facebook flags for attempting to sell a pharmaceutical (even though it’s an organic, non-gmo, all-natural supplement product)…
Would I be better off starting “fresh” with a new page for our new brand or changing the name on that page and just trying to get some momentum?

Its hard to say with any certainty without looking at the data…but.
I’d say you’re correct, start a new.
Make an ad set to target existing members of the Page.
Depending on how engaged the community is on the existing one… leave notice that it will be shutting down to service members better over here (New Page)
Sounds like you have a road with a lot of potholes… and instead of patching might be easier to build a new road.
Again, tough to say without seeing data.

With FB I think it’s a better bet to start new. Once you are flagged it’s really hard. You can always put some posts up inviting people to follow you on the new page.
