Help on closing IG account. Been trying forever to figure this out!

Arghhhhhh I literally just screamed into a pillow because I just CANNOT FIGURE THIS OUT. This has been like days of going in circles. Hopefully one of you instawhiz people will be able to help me!!!
Let’s start here: So I have multiple accounts. I have this one account in particular I want to delete. But whenever I try to log in on my PC to do it (I guess that’s the only way you can close this account) it will NOT let me log on to this particular account. I thought that this particular account was linked to my MAIN ACCOUNT, but when I use the Main Account password it does not work.
Okay, so then I push the “send me my password” button, which just logs me back into my MAIN ACCOUNT again, not the other account I want to close. Whatever I do, they just take me back to the Main Account. so I end up in the endless loop not being able to log on to my secondary account. How on earth do I cancel this account??? I can’t seem to get the password back, I don’t see any other options!

You could try calling them? They’re pretty helpful, you know…

If I remember right, at the bottom of the mail that comes with the password reset button there is another link which lets you reset your password and not log you back into the account. I went through the same thing few days back.

I’ve had this issue!
When you’re on desktop, go to sign in and click on “reset password” or “forgot password” and get a reset link emailed to you. Reset the password.
After doing that you will then be able to log on while on desktop 🙂 You can even use the same one as before.
It doesn’t seem to create a new password when you link an account in mobile for some reason.

Open Instagram on your phone’s browser. Do it on incognito.
Then try to delete. It works.
