Help – Business Instagram account being targeted by follower bots
Posted by on July 18, 2020 at 9:49 amI have a business Instagram account that recently has been targeted by follow bots.
I am 99% sure that a competitor has arranged it as only moments before it started, I contacted them asking them to remove artwork from their page as it was mine.
At its peak, the page was getting 100 follows a minute from obvious fake accounts and in the end I had to turn the account to personal and private.
Instagram was quick to suspend the account and has since removed the c.600 followers I couldn’t manually remove but now again today, 24 hours after going back to a professional account, the same thing is happening and I have had to go personal and private again.
This has implications with advertising and also I lose insight metrics. It also concerns me that Instagram might take action against the account.
Is there anything I can do or any point of contact I can make to stop this? Instagram seem quick to punish the victim but seemingly no interest in the person doing it.

You can only do the same treatment back to them… Follower bots hurt your business like crazy

I was in a somewhat similar position. I had to block/remove over 10K followers manually over time. The only thing you can do is retaliate in the exact same fashion, but one up them…spend the extra money and get them 100K follows…or just talk to them, but that doesn’t seem productive.
