Just wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts on new changes from Instagram.

I’ve noticed recently about the location tags not posting and I thought it was just a bug with Buffer, but then I saw the post on Hootsuite explaining the new updates.

“Instagram and Facebook are making some changes that affect publishing to those networks in Hootsuite:

    * As of November 3, 2020, the option to tag Instagram and Facebook posts with a location is no longer available.

Between January and March of 2021, the following two Instagram changes will occur:

    * Each Instagram account will be limited to publishing a maximum of 60 Instagram posts from Hootsuite (or any other third-party publisher) within a rolling 30-day period. To publish more than 60 posts within a 30-day period, you can go to Instagram directly to publish more.
    * Instagram accounts linked to Facebook Pages with large audiences may be asked to confirm their identity and secure their account before they can resume publishing via Hootsuite. This process involves 1) enabling two-factor authentication to protect the account from unauthorized access and 2) confirming your primary location by turning on your mobile device’s location services.”

I’ve been using Buffer for automation, and while it is very useful I am slowly considering using Creator Studio for client work. All Creator Studio really needs for me is to add is first comment and the ability to post to IG from the mobile app… then I’d make a switch.

Have you made any changes in your automation?

I’m mostly using Creator Studio right now. Haven’t noticed these changes inside of Later though!

I do like Creator Studio but the first comment feature is definitely something I miss. It’s not the most intuitive to see the content you have scheduled, either. And if you want to preview your feed you have to use a separate service.
