Has anyone in here actually had success on social media?
Posted by Certain_Row990 on October 15, 2025 at 6:44 pmI see a lot of people in here asking questions for help with their own thing but I never really see anyone that is talking from experience. If there is anyone who has actually had success or is still actively posting, comment below!

GuestOctober 15, 2025 at 7:04 pmYep, my wife and I run a small tea room in coastal France, and I handle the Instagram.
We’ve grown it to 45K followers over 5 years, mostly through photo carousels and ads (small budget).
Nothing viral. Just consistency, atmosphere, and storytelling that feels true to the place.
What about you, what kind of business or project are you working on?

GuestOctober 15, 2025 at 7:11 pmDepends on what you mean by success. I’ve had a few viral videos in the travel niche with views in the millions. Unfortunately, I wasn’t monetized at the time, so I didn’t make any money. And It didn’t generate many subs.
After a few months, my reach died down significantly. I was frustrated at not getting views, suffered burnout, and then stopped posting altogether. I waited a few months and tried again. The account never recovered, and I deleted it about a year ago.
I just started posting in a new niche I actually enjoy. But I started doing it for me. If I make it, I make it. If not, I am providing myself with hours upon hours of entertainment. It’s a win / win.

GuestOctober 15, 2025 at 8:06 pmYoutube channel with 1m subs (2011-2014), one thing led to another and we grew a channel to nearly 25m subs. I’m no longer active in social media atm though.

GuestOctober 15, 2025 at 8:53 pmYes! I run a community Instagram page with 28k followers that makes me $3,000 a month and I have so much fun doing it everyday!! I have done it since 2021 and made substantial money from long-term partnerships since 2022.
I try to never go viral – I slowly build a community who engages and participates and buys recommended products.
The main thing I see is burnout – people will leave their social media management career or influencing thing because it gets overwhelming/feels like work. For me, I post myself smoking weed in nature, which is something I would have fun doing anyway, but now I get paid to do it. It’s a dream, it’s the easiest money I’ve ever made, but I don’t think it’ll last forever. We are living in a creator bubble right now.

GuestOctober 16, 2025 at 2:05 amyeah, my tiktok account has been paying all my bills since I got laid off in May. I joined the Creator Fund in March 2024 when I hit 10k, and since then I’ve grown to 83k. My highest viewed tiktok has 11M views and earned around $5000. Typically I’ll make 2-3k in a month, though I don’t post every day because I’m dealing with some burnout tbh.
A few months ago, I started posting halfheartedly on instagram, too. The growth started slow and I honestly thought organic reach on IG was just dead — I was sitting around 300 followers for months, despite huge viral videos on tiktok — and then IG exploded. I went from 330 followers to 12k in a month.
It just goes to show that you should stick with it. Both of my accounts had major ups and downs. The growth was not linear.
I have another instagram that is brand new and really stuck at a plateau. It’s a new niche for me so I need to do a lot of experimenting. It’s lowkey dead rn but that’s ok. Dead accounts can be revived. And I’m determined to crack that nut
