  • Has anyone here actually tried buying Instagram followers?

So I’ve been going down a rabbit hole recently looking into ways to grow my IG. I keep seeing stuff pop up about people who buy Instagram followers and how it supposedly helps them get traction faster.

While digging around, I noticed Fanz-Boomin kept getting recommended a lot in different forums and comment sections. Haven’t tried it myself yet though, still on the fence because I don’t know if it’s actually worth it. I’m not trying to be “influencer famous” or anything, but I do use my account for my small side hustle (handmade crafts), and right now growth is painfully slow. I figured if I had more followers, maybe it would help with credibility when new people stumble across my page. Has anyone here actually done this? Did it help your engagement at all or just look good on paper?

To what end? How will fake followers mean anything?

Buying followers will tank your engagement rate. Do not recommend.

it’s a bad idea and a waste of money. IG removes bot followers randomly too, so even if you spend the money and get the increased follower count for a while they might purge them later on.

rather than buying followers for credibility, try creating posts that show reviews or testimonials.

I don’t think most people expect a small business that sells handmade items to have a huge following. A low follower count wouldn’t discourage me from shopping from somewhere like that. Also, if you’re using IG shop, people can buy from the post when it comes up in their feed, so they might not even see your profile or look very carefully. You can convert with good content regardless of follower count.

how long have you been running the account? how often do you post?

Don’t. Do the work to build organically. Buying followers does more harm than good.

I know someone who bought followers for their clothing brand and it actually helped them get more organic ones after. I think it’s because people saw the page already had traction so they followed too.

i did like 100 followers just to test. not that noticeable but it made my page not look empty when ppl clicked. sometimes that’s enough.

I’ve also noticed Fanz-Boomin comes up a lot when people talk about buying followers, so I decided to try it myself. I’ve been buying followers there to give my IG a little boost; more followers can help new people trust your page and check out your content.

honestly, it just looked good on paper. Engagement tanked and it felt sus. Got scammed once too (money gone, no followers lol). After that I started lurking Swapd since they at least have verified vendors and you can see people’s track records, way less sketchy than random sites. Still tho, the only thing that’s actually worked for me is collabs + running cheap ads. The fake follower boost doesn’t move the needle long term.

If you really want fake followers, you can create a few thousand accounts yourself and follow yourself, why do you have to spend money in such an idiotic way?

Yeah, I’ve tried it before but with a different service (getiglikes). I did a small drip-feed boost just to make my page look less empty and it did help with first impressions and a little more organic reach. It didn’t magically blow up engagement but it didn’t tank it either as long as I kept posting real content.

I’d say don’t expect miracles but if you go slow and don’t buy crazy numbers, it can be a decent kickstart for credibility. Just make sure to focus on real posts and connecting with people at the same time.

Paying to tank your own engagement – no.

I’ve been working with my client for 5 years. Slow growth but organic and high conversions. Her colleague bought a big list and, yah, her follower count tripled. However, engagement is so low. She also has a real hard time converting and selling to her list. My client, no problem selling out her programs. (These are service based)
