Got Surprised by Latest SEO Report from Personal Website
Posted by on November 9, 2025 at 7:33 pmI used to run a personal website and blog that I had written stuff for between 2020 and 2024. I was surprised to discover that there was still traffic going to that site. The website hasn't had any updates since late 2024, last September to be exact.
My theory is that the persistent traffic on the website has to do with it containimg some repostings of niche subject matter that came from another website that belonged to a old friend of mine at the university. His website is now defunct, but another friend and I did manage to save much of his site on the Wayback Machine. My posts consisted of copies of my lengthy comments to that site's posts, which were English translations of obscure political texts from the 20th century (mostly German, Italian, British, American, and Soviet).
I'll continue to post more as I revisit this old website of mine. There might be something useful.

Interesting, there’s a bunch of clicks from people downloading copies of research papers and translated texts that I uploaded on the site back in the day.
