GuestSeptember 8, 2025 at 8:09 pmI’d take them to court for slander, and then use the document from the judgment as legal proof to send to the podcast and search engine in order to have them remove that content, and just as a bonus i’d send the courr document to any partners and advertisers to fuck that podcast over since they’re trying to fuck you.

GuestSeptember 8, 2025 at 8:13 pmDo a little reputation management job. Post shit loads of guest posts about how amazing you are, social media posts, YouTube vids too. I know someone who’s done this so much they have keywords with search volumes attached to their name

GuestSeptember 8, 2025 at 8:32 pmLook for pro bono lawyer that will take this on as it seems like slander.
Don’t pay any money to get it removed unless it’s actually been removed.

GuestSeptember 8, 2025 at 8:35 pmOp, please post for some advice in a legal sub. IMO, the legal route should be your first step – especially considering some of the context you’ve provided.
If that doesn’t work out, come back to dmca takedowns/etc. But dmca takedowns could start a cat and mouse game, where as the legal route would probably shut the door a bit more firmly – and entitle you to damages if there are any shenanigans later down the line.

GuestSeptember 8, 2025 at 8:37 pmGet a lawyer to send them a take-down notice and intent to sue. Part of the requests a private apology and remove the video from all platforms. $500 to $2k is about right for this.
You do need to be careful as it could blow up, refer to Streisand effect.
Otherwise you can make a public statement and move on.

I’m really sorry to hear this and thanks for fighting the good fight.
>I reached out to a popular company who quoted me $2k if they were able to remove the podcast. Does that seem like a reasonable amount?
I havent any experience but I do have a friend who is a lawyer and runs an ORM company- would be happy to conenct you to see if they can help. I would be happy to volunteer my services too

GuestSeptember 8, 2025 at 9:44 pmDid you sign a release? You can revoke your consent to be broadcast, but a C&D letter from your attorney is probably the best course of action

GuestSeptember 9, 2025 at 1:11 amSend a cease and desist, threaten a lawsuit for slander and libel. If they don’t take it down, report it to Apple. If that doesn’t work, you could pay a PR firm to create content that puts you in a more positive light and hopefully pushes that podcast off page 1 of Google for your name.

GuestSeptember 9, 2025 at 9:29 amIf you’re in trouble with this £2k seems fair but I don’t know what company would do this. Especially in SEO space I would approach a lawyer about defamation get a cease and desist.
Reach out to other podcasts that are opposite to them refraim the narrative have a very strict plan of what you want to say rebuttals and plan out what you would’ve said instead in case they try and play it again.
Good luck

GuestSeptember 9, 2025 at 10:07 amOther than the suggestions, I’d read apples terms and see if there’s some angle you can lodging some type takedown action of copyright or hate speech on the episode… and get some friends to do the same.

GuestSeptember 9, 2025 at 12:52 pmYou can sue, you can counter attack, or you can hide.
Even if you get it removed, you’ll just bring more awareness to it.
IMO, go on the offensive.
