  • Google search console not find all sitemaps in index

Posted by seohelper on February 25, 2021 at 10:41 am

Ive submitted our sitemap index to the google search console, the index contains about 6000 sitemaps each contain about 1000 urls

However google is only finding the first sitemap inside the index, so it only ‘see’s’ about 1000 urls when there should be over 6 million

Ive checked the xml structure many times and it is valid according to [sitemaps.org](https://sitemaps.org) and there are no errors visible on the google search console

has anyone found this issue with google search?

That’s normal. If you are worried just resubmit the sitemap.

You needn’t add ALL pages to your ALL sitemaps. Google doesn’t like this way. Unfortunately people do the same thing day after day after day.

You should add main or priority pages to sitemaps.

If you have issues of informational architecture sitemaps won’t help you.
