    Google Grants compliance restrictions

Posted by seohelper on August 24, 2021 at 3:48 am

I have recently implemented a Google Grants campaign and I understand that there are some restrictions such as a maximum bud of $2 (which it will not allow me to exceed).

However, there are other restrictions such as “No single-word keywords permitted” that I have some questions about.

I was unaware of this restriction when I began my campaign and have been utilizing many single-word keywords… **Will my account get suspended if I continue this?**

It allows me to do it (unlike how I cannot raise my bid over the limit) so I was wondering how this is regulated.

There are some exceptions to single keywords, like brand keywords. In my experience with ad grant accounts, it is best to keep on the right side of compliance.

Not sure if you know, but you can exceed $2 limit through automated bidding strategies.

The $2 limit was removed several years ago, provided you use an automated bidding strategy (and everyone should). Assuming you have conversion tracking set up, switch campaigns immediately to Maximize Conversions. If you don’t have conversion tracking set up, make that your #1 priority.

No point using single word keywords because they are now automatically paused by an automated checking tool. You won’t get suspended but you won’t get traffic from them either. There is an exemption for brand and medical terms. Check the Change history for the account and you might notice Ad Grants pausing not just single word keywords, but also generic keywords.
