[Google analytics] GA4 issues with UTM links, anyone?
Hello,
My company heavily relies on UTM links to measure different influx of campaigns (paid social, social, email, affiliates, etc)
We’ve just started a new website and ran Facebook Ads totalling 70k unique clicks, and only saw 1.4k users in GA4 (I’m 100% sure they’re correctly tagged).
* Real-time view is bugged:
* I went on testing and gave my friends separate UTM tagged links to investigate if they’d show up as new users. Half of them don’t appear on real time view!
* Those friends who appear on real-time, it will only show “referral” as the medium and campaign EVERYTIME, and source is always business. facebook.com, even though the post is tagged to utm_source=facebook. com (and not business.facebook) and utm_medium=social (and not referral)* Acquisition is bugged:
* I deleted my cookies, tried see if I’d appear in “today’s” data via organic search on Yahoo, nothing.
* Deleted cookies again, tried to see if I’d appear in “today’s” data by clicking on our social media posts, nothing…Anyone else with similar problems – it’s like UTMs aren’t being processed correctly ? Any solutions to measure campaign performance besides reverting to UA?
