Google Ads Search Campaign – Something wrong?

Posted by chabbaworkie on April 8, 2026 at 7:04 am

    Hi everyone,

I launched my first PPC campaign about a month ago, and ngl, the results haven’t been great. I’ve only gotten a handful of conversions, and my cost per conversion is quite high. I've gotten 1 high ticket conversion, which helped me stay in the green, but without it, I'd be losing money

I know from reading here that you need info, so here’s a quick overview:

Business: Black Car & Limo Service

    Campaign setup:

    • 2 campaigns:
      1. Local Searches (Miami)
      2. US-wide Searches (excluding Miami)
    • Each campaign has 3 ad groups:
      • Ad Group 1 (General): miami limo service, limo service near me, car service miami etc.
      • Ad Group 2 (Airport): airport transfer miami, miami airport limo, airport transportation etc.
      • Ad Group 3 (Chauffeur): chauffeur service near me, miami chauffeur service etc.

I mostly use exact match and continuously add negative keywords from the search terms report.
I only do Search Ads. Partner Network and Display Searches are off. Campaign is set for clicks.

    Performance:

    • CTR: ~8% across all ad groups
    • ~500 clicks total (budget: $100/day)
    • 180+ users used the booking form to check pricing (I'm no ppc expert but that value is amazing, no?)
    • Only 5 completed bookings → ~1% conversion rate (excluding phone call conversions)

Here is a collection of my data in Google Ads: https://i.imgur.com/HoMydfG.png

    User behavior:
Most visitors land on the homepage and immediately use the booking form.
The biggest drop-off happens at the vehicle selection step. Users check options and then leave.

    What I’ve tried so far:

    • Installed Hotjar to analyze user behavior -> fixed some critical bugs.
    • Set up exit surveys (no responses yet)

    Pricing:
I don’t think pricing is the issue. My rates are intentionally lower than competitors:

    • My price: ~$120
    • Competitors: $145–$185+ for the same distance

I did this to validate the concept first and planned to optimize pricing later.

If you look up "miami car service" or "miami limo service" 9/10 competitors will be noticeably more expensive than me.

    Main concern:
I’m not sure if the issue is my funnel, but something is clearly wrong after users see the vehicles.

    Website: miamilimocar dot com

You can try the funnel with the addresses: Miami Airport to 1 Hotel South Beach (or any address)

Would appreciate any insights on what I might be missing and doing wrong.

Looks more like a site/funnel problem than an ads problem.

Your CTR is fine, and 180 price checks from 500 clicks means people are interested. The biggest leak is after that — especially at vehicle selection — so I’d simplify that step and make landing pages match each search intent better.

180 form fills to 5 bookings is 2.7% conversion… the dropoff is your vehicle selection page… users check prices then bounce because they’re comparing you against Uber Black which costs $60-80 for that route… your $120 is actually 40-50% more expensive than rideshare for single rides not perceived premium enough to justify the price jump.

8% CTR is solid and 180 users hitting the booking form means your ads and landing page are doing their job. The problem is the vehicle selection step and that’s almost certainly a UX or trust issue, not a pricing issue.
