    Hello,

I am considering making an offer for a domain that’s already taken.

I have two questions I’m hoping someone can help with:

1). How can I check to make sure this domain arent in any penalties with google, bing, etc?
2). Is godaddy broker service the way to go or are there other options?

    Thank you

    1. The only way is to submit the domain to search console, but you need to own it in order to verify it.
    2. You could try and contact the domain owner directly (if you can get the contact details from a whois lookup). I did this a year or so ago. Someone had a domain name I wanted (the .com to the others I bought) and the broker wanted $2000. I was able to find the owner and offered $200 which they took.

EDIT – I should clarify. When I initially wanted the domain it was through a broker and I did contact them, but they wouldn’t budge on the price. I’d keep checking and eventually it reverted back to the original owner or something – perhaps they cancelled the brokerage? Not sure. Anyways it was a few months after that I found out the whois changed. So then I approached the owner.
